Vol. 10 December 2022-The Good, the Great and the Even better!

Wow, what a year! As 2022 comes to an end and we look forward to a healthy, happy 2023 it’s a great time to reflect on the good, the great and the even better ☺️ This past year, with the support of our security guards, administrators and family, Foley Security has made enormous headway and growth in the security industry. I’d like to take this opportunity to share some of our milestones, give you a glimpse of what’s to come and give thanks for the outstanding dedication our team has demonstrated throughout the year….

What has been highlighted this year, has shown that the industry for security guards will increase by “15% from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). With this projection, and because of the pandemic, there are certain trends that will dominate the industry. One of the trends that has increased, specifically within the security guard industry, is more training due to the increased requirements for diversity training, de-escalation training, and permit training for more than just a firearm. Foley Security, over the past year as realized this need, and has addressed it by increasing our behavioral training courses (STAT), making courses readily available online, and incorporating new firearm classes that allow person the certification to carry a firearm in New York State (excluding NYC). We also compiled a free power hour that encapsulates all of our courses in a quick and easy snapshot which is available to all of our clients. Foley Security will continue to not only meet our industry’s demands but look to the future, keeping our guards current and up to date with all the tools they are going to need to stay relevant in their role as a security officer.

Throughout this year, we have been working diligently to not only increase our training but also, secure our foothold in the Hudson Valley as one of the leading security guard providers. With the diligence and professionalism of our security team, we have acquired new clients across a broad range of industries such as healthcare (MVP Healthcare), hotel & hospitality (Westchester Marriott), outdoor venues (concerts & summer camps), Education (Hudson, NY and Highland Falls, NY) and Retail (J. Crew and Alexander McQueen). Our diversified client portfolio has made us one of the emerging newcomers in the Security industry and we have only just begun. This past year, I am happy to report our workload for guard service has gone from 4,600 hours in 2021 to 30,000 hours in 2022. This increase in hours has allowed us the opportunity to offer our guards more shifts and bigger paychecks!

As we look to the future one of our main goals is to offer health insurance to our full-time employees. We believe investing in our guard’s progress, investing in health benefits and paying a competitive salary for our area is extremely important. In this new climate of what is called, The Great Resignation, where 4.3 million people left their company in 2021, we plan to actively maintain our employee base as we continue to grow. One of our long-term goals, most likely in 2024, is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) profit sharing plan. We are currently in the planning stages but are very excited at the opportunity to execute all these great benefits for our employees and their families.

In closing, Foley Security would like to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday and Healthy 2023. Thank you!
