New Jersey CCARE Qualification & Use of Force
This course meets the CCARE Protocol requirements to apply for your New Jersey Concealed Carry Permit as published by the NJSP. This course includes both range and classroom time.
Prerequisite: You must have knowledge on general safety, operation, and drawing from concealment of your firearm. During classroom portion, instructors will cover basic firearms safety, fundamentals of pistol shooting, malfunction clearing, holster draw, holster requirements, use of force, carry ammunition, and concealed carry logistics.
In the range you will demonstrate familiarity with the safe handling of your firearm while performing the NJ Qualification. The shooting qualification will be perfomed on the FBI “Q” Targets, shooting 50 rounds at the following distances: 15, 10, 7, 5 and 3 yards. All strings of fire will be shot by drawing from a concealed holster. This is a PASS or FAIL qualification course. After completing the training you will be given an Instructor's certificate and New Jersey's form SP182.

Price does not include Range Time and Ammunition. The student’s are responsible for coming prepared with ammunition and paying for the gun range time.
REQUIRED TO QUALIFY:
- New York residents need a valid pistol license
- New Jersey residents:
- Photo ID (drivers license, government issued photo ID)
- FID Card (address MUST match Photo ID)
- Firearm should be unloaded and locked while traveling to the class
- Safe and Functional Firearm (must be registered to you)
- Any semi-auto handgun
- Safe and Functional hard holster
- AIWB, IWB, or OWB holsters are permitted
- You must draw from concealment, if carrying OWB, your shirt must cover the firearm.
- A loose fitting overshirt concealing an OWB holster is acceptable.
- No Blackhawk SERPA, crossdraw, shoulder or ankle holsters are allowed
- Magazines required
- Minimum of 2 magazines (three preferred)
- Belt-mounted carrying pouch for mags
- 50 rounds of factory ammunition per firearm required (No reloads)
- Eye protection required. Prescription eyewear is acceptable.
- Over the ear hearing protection required
- Baseball style cap with brim recommended
- Range pants or comparable with belt loops sturdy enough to hold a hard holster
- Shirts and/or outerwear that can be tucked into pants
- Range appropriate closed-toed footwear (Boots preferred)
*Per NYS Ammunition Records Requirement, please have ammuntion prior to attending the training. It can take a few days to pass the background check, so purchasing ammuntion on the day of the training is not recommended.
