H.R. 218 Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act (LEOSA)
REQUIRED TO QUALIFY:
- Valid Retired Police/Peace Officer’s identification card from your former law enforcement agency
- Safe and Functional Firearm
- Any semi-auto handgun
- When shooting revolvers, use a 6 shot service type revolver
- Safe and Functional hard holster
- AIWB, IWB, or OWB holsters are permitted
- No Blackhawk SERPA, crossdraw, shoulder or ankle holsters are allowed
- Magazines or Speedloaders required
- Minimum of 2 magazines or speedloaders required (three preferred)
- Belt-mounted carrying pouch may be used
- Minimum of 50 rounds of factory ammunition per firearm required (No reloads)
- Eye protection required. Prescription eyewear is acceptable.
- Over the ear hearing protection required
- Baseball style cap with brim recommended
- Range pants or comparable with belt loops sturdy enough to hold a hard holster
- Shirts and/or outerwear that can be tucked into pants
- Range appropriate closed-toed footwear (Boots preferred)
Meeting location will be at Master Class Gun Range (2 Stair Way, Monroe, NY 10950)
*Per NYS Ammunition Records Requirement, please have ammunition prior to attending the training. It can take a few days to pass the background check for ammunition.
