Quick Facts to get started: NYS Security Guard License Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid NY State driver’s license, NYS ID card or go to a NYS DMV with a special form so they can take your photo
  • No felony record
  • 8-Hour Pre-Assignment (1st Course to complete for New Officer's)
  • 16-Hour OJT (must be completed within 90 days of employment)
